I write this post I am thinking about my day today.  The morning was quiet as the kiddos were at school and Jen and I took the time to relax, watch a movie, and have a cup of Joe together.  Good times my friends.  Good Times!  One of the many benefits of working with your spouse, being able to take those moments and just enjoy them. :-)

Speaking of good times, last week Jen and I met up with Kurt and Lucky in Rio Vista, CA to photograph their Engagement Session.  Its always pretty cool when our couples really think about their Engagement Session and put time and effort into it.  Kurt actually proposed to Lucky on the pier we photographed at.  It was really cool to hear about the story of how he did it in their “Getting To Know You Questionnaire” we send out to each of our clients.  We always love reading the responses, especially ones like Kurt & Lucky’s where they really took the time to tell us all about how he proposed.

Kurt & Lucky enjoy their fishing trips to Rio Vista, not because they are avid serious fishermen, but because the love the quiet scenic area, and the time it gives them to just relax and enjoy time together.  They laugh that they actually rarely catch anything, but it’s more about the time than it about catching fish (though Lucky really gets excited when she is able to catch something, since it’s not a regular event)  On this particular day, they were fishing all day and once again didn’t catch anything.  The sun was beginning to set, and the temperature was dropping so Kurt ended up asking Lucky to go to the car to grab a jacket and while she was away he pulled out one of those fake fish you can put in your pool that swim around and attached it to her fishing line. He had a note on the fish that said, “I’ve been hooked on you since day one?” And then you opened the note and  inside it said, “Lucky will you marry me”.  Lucky didn’t see him do it and when she came back, she had a tug on her line like she caught something (of course it was the mechanical fish he had attached) as she pulled her line up out of the water there was the fish attached to it. She read the note and turned to Kurt who was down on one knee with an engagement ring out and asked her to marry him.  Lucky began to cry, and says she remembers seeing he had a ring, but it had gotten so dark, she couldn’t even really see what the ring looked like .  Tears filled her eyes as she said yes!

Pretty clever proposal if you ask me.  So of course when they suggested we start the session where he proposed we were so excited!!  We had a lot of fun with them and who knew how quiet and cool Rio Vista is. (we see why you guys like making the drive there to enjoy a day together!) Kurt & Lucky we had a blast with you guys at your session.  Enjoy your teaser and we can’t wait to share the rest with you.
