This session has been in the works, anticipated, and looked forward to for a LOOOONG time…. Our good friends Zach & Anne have a brand new baby in their household and we couldn’t be more excited for them. They have been trying to adopt for the past 2 years. The journey for them wasn’t smooth. They had had many bumps along this journey, and been matched with 7 birth moms, for something to not work out. I can’t imagine the roller-coaster ride they have been through emotionally and mentally. And yet through all this they have remained faithful and dedicated to both the process and each other. You can read their story about it on their family blog. Regardless of all the trials and tribulations, God works in mysterious ways and now has blessed them with a beautiful baby girl named Providence. Zach and Anne- Jen and I are so so happy for you both!!! Jen broke down in tears when she heard the good news that you were bringing Providence home with you!!! Your new baby girl is so adorable and sweet. Enjoy your blog teaser and we can’t wait to share the rest with you both.

One of the coolest things about our job is not only photographing our clients weddings, but when they start a new family, and one such couple is Dan & Nikki. A few years ago, Dan & Nikki were one of our first weddings we did, and recently they had a new baby boy named Jackson, and contacted us to photograph their new family. He is such a cutie!! Dan’s brother and his kids came, as well as Nikki’s mom Barbara for the photos. It was a great day out on the American River with them as we walked around and chatted. Dan & Nikki, it was so great seeing you two again as well as the rest of your family and Jackson he is such a cutie. Enjoy your blog teaser and we can’t wait to show you the rest from your session.

I was so excited when I got a email from my friend Lauren, whom I photographed her Watch Me Grow Collection last year of Baby Kapri and heard that her and Brad were having another baby girl named Gracie. I absolutely love this family. And Watch Me Grow Collections are my absolute favorite! I get to hang with not only the family through the year, but I get to photograph all the milestones and quickly the baby grows during their 1st year.
Gracie is so adorable. With her beautiful blue eyes looking up at me, I can’t help but want to hold this little bundle of joy. She’s like a little twin of her big sister Kapri, I can’t tell you how many times as I was photographing her, I was taken back to the 1st time I photographed Kapri!
Brad & Lauren, Gracie is beautiful and I can’t believe how much Kapri has grown since the last time I saw her!

We have been so blessed with awesome clients. Clients that are not only amazing to work with but become close friends with us, almost like family. Jackson & Krista are one of those couples that just make us smile and enjoy being around them. We met them a few years ago and instantly clicked with them. When we shot their Engagement Session back in April of 2009, we just went nutty for them. That year we also spent 4th of July with them up at Placerville Speedway to watch the outlaw race cars, which still to this day all of our kids talk about that day constantly. Its one of our favorite memories to date!! Then it got even better when we shot their Wedding at Monte Verde Inn. The day was flawless and simple and elegant and just amazing!!! Now Jackson and Krista have started a family and we were able to capture them as a brand new family. Baby Adie is so so so adorable!!! It seems like yesterday that Jen and I just had Brian and remember how small he was. Jackson & Krista we are so blessed to have you guys in our lives and to be able to photograph all your most amazing events in your lives as a couple and now as a new family. Ok so this is so sweet. They have a swing and when Adie would fuss they would put her in the swing but she doesn’t like it so Jackson will go into the hallway and place adie in the car seat, and swing her back and forth and she loves it so much it puts her to sleep just like that.
SO SO SO CUTE!!!

How is it that I am such a lucky girl that I get to spend my days with adorable newborns and their loving families??? On Tuesday I went and hung out with baby Lucca, who is just 2 weeks old, his big sister Ella, his Mommy, Daddy and his Grandma!
I think Lucca deserves the award for the most alert and content baby during a photo session. Now mind you, most all of my newborn sessions are quite smooth, with the babies content either in their parents arms or even being moved from place to place. But it’s inevitable, babies are babies, and they get fussy, or sleepy, or messy or SOMETHING. But little Lucca had his eyes open I would say all but the last few mintues of our time together. He layed content as can be as we moved him around, bundled him, unbundled him, changed him etc. Even Mom & Dad were a bit surpised. I hope he slept well for you Tuesday night and he is just getting ready to get into a nice schedule for you two!

Yep, he melted my heart through the whole morning. Look at this handsome little boy!

The gentleness and deep connection I felt throughout this family made me so happy. Dad is just so gentle and completely in love with his two amazing children, I was filled with joy as I left their home after spending the morning with them.
Then as Mommy took care of feeding and changing Lucca Ella and Daddy and I went out back to play. Ella has the best laugh. She loves playing with her Daddy, and I’m not sure who has more fun, Ella or Daddy 
I love to watch the older siblings faces when they interact with their new baby in those first few weeks. I just wish I knew what Ella was thinking of this new little guy.
Grandma was able to make the trip out from the midwest in time for Lucca’s birth, and has been able to stay to help Mom and Dad transition from one little one to two. Ella is loving spending time snuggling and playing with her Grandma.
And I have a feeling Grandma feels the same way about snuggling and spending time with her two grandchildren
