Last week Jen ventured out and photographed a surprise party for a family she has known since she was a little kid.  Her dad works with them in the ministry area, and Bud ( Martha’s Husband ) wanted to surprise her with all the family coming to dinner and celebrating her birthday together.

He did such a great job cause all the family showed up and waited till Bud and Martha showed up and she was floored.  She ended up crying cause she was so happy to see everyone.  Such a great moment.  It was a great time to capture.  Bud & Martha enjoy these teaser pics from the evening.  Can’t wait to share the rest with you.

Last week I was able to photograph one of our good friends kids and grandparents The Williams.  We have been friends with them for years.  Its crazy to think that when we first met our kids were so tiny, and now look at them they have grown up so quick.  I swear that when I blink that they grow up that fast.

I ventured up to Georgetown where they live, and we went to this beautful nature area about a 1/2 mile away.  We walked around and allowed the kids and their grandparents to hang out and enjoy each other.  I found out from Tezra that the kids grandparents have never had their photos taken and that was so worth being a part of this, and this was a gift from Tezra.  So cool.

I had a great time with them and they were so nice after that we went back to their house and they made dinner and had be stay with them, plus who can say no to pulled pork tacos.  Not this guy!!  Tezra and the rest of the fam, enjoy this teaser cause I can’t wait to share the rest with you very soon.

Love this shot of the kids hanging out with their Grandma Robin.

Love

AND LOVE THIS ONE!!!!

When Robin & Dan sat down and were snuggling together and talking to each other how much they meant to each other it seriously was so cool.  I didn’t want them to stop.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH  I love this moment.

Alaina was having some fun with bubbles out there.  One of my favorite shots.

and this is the beautiful Alaina.

Meet Alorah

This is the cute Micah.

and last but certainly not least is Isaiah.

This wa a cool moment as we were walking back to the cars and Micah was on top of Grandpa Dan’s shoulders.

Its always fun when we get the opportunity to capture a family in their essassence at home, or together at a park, or watching movies or whatever it is they like to do together.  Its just fun to see a family hang out and do what they love to do together.  Capturing those moments is pretty rad.  One such family that I got to capturre last week was The duerksen Family.  We have known them for quite some time and we were in a bible study with them for a while too.

I met up with them at their home and began capturing them as a family in the backyard playing and hanging with them and then going inside and watching them play together with video games and fun times in the living room.  Its cool I think.  The day was great and I had a really fun time with them.  Enjoy this teaser from their session everyone!

I always enjoy when Jen and I can photograph not only our couples wedding but their families too and one such couple that we sooooooooo love is Rob & Whitney.  We had such a great time getting to know them during their engagement session, and their wedding day was awesome!!!

Whitney hit me up a little bit ago wanting to do a family session for her mom’s Lori’s 50th birthday as a gift.  That’s pretty rad if you ask me.  So once I heard that I got super excited cause I always love to see our couples again.  They become friends to us and we love that.

We ventured out to Roseville and met up at William Hughes Park, which has some really cool natural areas all over.  Lori and the family are so fun to hang out with cause they have energy, they are funny and were cracking jokes the whole time, and they are easy to talk to.  No wonder I love his family.

We had a great time and I didn’t want the day to stop cause that the type of awesome people they are just like at the wedding.  Enjoy these quick teasers everyone!!

I love this family.

This was Lori doing her “Ahhhhhh Jahhhhh” pose.  Told you I would catch ya Lori.  ;)

Ahhh Spring is in the air.  The weather has been so nice lately the famile & I have been outside a lot more and enjoying the sun these last few weeks.  Speaking of enjoying the sun I got to photograph a rad family last week!  Here is one of the sessions that Jen has photographed before with them and this time I got to have the awesome opportunity to photograph Valerie and her kids.

We ventured out to an area that I have never been to before that’s not too far from my home.  I literally ride my bike there a week before the session to look at it and get a feel of what the surroundings were like.  Its awesome!!  Valerie told me about it a while back and it really is super cool.

Her kids are so dang cute.  They were dressed up with in vintage inspired outfits, simple and stylish.  I love that!  Well I think I’ll stop talking and start sharing some photos from this awesome session.  I soooo can’t wait to share these the whole session with you Valerie!!!

There is one time a year that I get super super excited for.  One time a year that one family goes above and beyond to out do their family portraits from the previous year.  One time a year I get to photograph this family and I can’t even begin to tell you how much excitement i get when that day comes.  I am talking about the Lewis Family (jen’s sister’s family).

Every year they plan and figure out what they want the theme of their photos to be.  The first year they came up with wearing all black with a few red balloons down by the river.   The next year we had talked with them and their idea this time was kind of a punk feel in downtown Sacramento. The next session the following year they wanted to step outside of the box and do a family session that was 40′s-50′s inspired session with a beaver cleaver type feel in a abandoned house.  So much fun!!!

After that session they were wondering how they could out do themselves.  Kristen had talked to me about doing something a bit different.  Something Gothic, but have a renaissance feel to the outfits and doing it outside in a very dense, woodsy area.  I was super excited.  The day came and we meet in Folsom at a new area I have been wanting to photograph at but never had the time, nor the right type of shoot, until that day with them.  It was sooooooooooo much fun.  The trees, the weather, the light, all of it couldn’t have been more perfect.  Kristen, I had so much fun this year with you guys.  I seriously don’t know how you guys can top this one, but I have a feeling you will.  Enjoy your blog teaser and I can’t wait to share the rest with you guys!!!!

Meet the Lewis family!!!

Its 2012, and its supposed to be winter time but it feels alot like spring already.  I wont complain about that though.  It makes for great days outside with the kiddos and with friends and clients.  The Andrew family is pretty rad in my book.  Cathy is, our son Brian’s teacher at school and shes awesome.  She does such a great job with the kids and it shows.  Brian has learned so so much from her and continues to grow up way to fast.  I met up with the family at Maidu Park last week and they brought their dogs and we walked around along the trials in the back there and had alot of fun.  Sarah and Jake, we photographed their engagement session as well as their wedding last year so photographing them too was a joy. They are amazing.  I got to meet Laura and David for the first time and they too are a awesome couple.  It was alot of fun.  Cathy your family is awesome.  I had a great time with them.  Enjoy your blog teaser and we can’t wait to share the rest of the photos with you.

Meet the family.

David and Laura.  They are pretty rad if I do say so myself.
