One of the coolest things about our job is not only photographing our clients weddings, but when they start a new family, and one such couple is Dan & Nikki. A few years ago, Dan & Nikki were one of our first weddings we did, and recently they had a new baby boy named Jackson, and contacted us to photograph their new family. He is such a cutie!! Dan’s brother and his kids came, as well as Nikki’s mom Barbara for the photos. It was a great day out on the American River with them as we walked around and chatted. Dan & Nikki, it was so great seeing you two again as well as the rest of your family and Jackson he is such a cutie. Enjoy your blog teaser and we can’t wait to show you the rest from your session.
Dan & Nikki. We love them!!

Last week was so much fun with the Williams Family. Its always fun to photograph your friends and especially when they have awesome kids. We ventured up to Newcastle and walked around the old town. Its so quiet up there. I am so used to the noise of the freeway by our house and the constant noise of cars, trains and more. Not up there. Its so quiet and calm. This family is so cool and we are so blessed to have them in our lives. Enjoy your teaser Tezra!!
Meet the Williams Kiddos!!

Isiah has been doing karate alot and he likes to show off his guns!!

Here he is doing the crane move!!

This is Micha. The kid is so adorable. Look at those dimples and that blonde Mohawk!!

Like I said the kid is so cool.
Love this of the kids running and being themselves.

This is Lainey. Adorable!!!

And last but not least is Alorah!! She such a beautiful girl!!

LOVE THIS!!!!

Love this!!

OHG this girl wasn’t kidding when I asked her how high she could kick. She literally kicked herself in the forehead on this.
My favorite from the session.

Wow, has it been 2 years since I’ve seen Natalie & Aubrey??? I was SO excited not only see Krista, Paul and the girls, but also meet their new baby brother Drew!!!
I had so much fun hanging out with the girls, as they played dress up, took care of their baby dolls and read books with their parents. And I have to say, I’m loving the picture that they made for me (it melts my heart each time I come home from a session with a new drawing or piece of art to hang on my fridge!!)
I really enjoyed seeing how close Natalie and Aubrey are, how polar opposite their personalities are (they balance each other quite well) and how much just just LOVE their little brother!!!
Paul & Krista, thank you SO much for having me back into your home so that I could capture these memories for you guys!!! Once again, I walked away from your home feeling so full of love as I witnessed the close bond your family has!
Enjoy these few photos from your session, there’s more to share with you soon!!
When I arrived, Drew was getting a quick bath in the sink <3

My heart just melts every time I look at him!!! (kinda had a hard time not putting down the camera and just snuggling him right here!!)

And look at those awesome curls!!

Hehe, don’t let these shy looks fool you, both girls ran right up to me when I got there, to show off their pretty dresses!!

They love their little brother!!

Playing with their baby dolls… I think someone was trying to sample the baby doll’s bottle!

After some fun at home, we headed off to the park!

Nothing beats the way a Daddy can push on the swings (or underdogs given by Daddy!)

Enjoy these photos, I’m sure the family would love to read your thoughts just as much as I do (because you KNOW that blog comments make me giddy like a school girl!!!)

Every every year my parents plan one day during summer vacation for their Annual Extravaganza day. Each year they pick another theme. The tradition started many years ago, when the grand-kids were babies, we wanted to go camping, but couldn’t make a camping trip work out of town, so planned a camp-out in my parents’ back yard, complete with smores, and even used the projector to watch a movie outside on the back wall of their house!
The “backyard movie” has continued on through the years, but we have added a theme to each year. One year was Pirates, another was Clue/Mystery, Last year was Indiana Jones, and this year…. Midieval!!! (I have to admit, I just had a blast looking at the old posts, and seeing how the much the kids have grown over the years- plus check out how preggo I was with Bella at the Pirate party!!)
My parents go all out in the planning for these events! They send an official invitation each year, they decorate the back yard, plan games and activities with the theme, food that go along with the theme, and even the movie is normally fitting!
Seriously this was awesome the way they transformed their backyard into a midievil area.

The tournament of Ping Pong!! Many people enter the contest but only one can be victorious.

I had to christen the days events!!

and as always Bella the princess making her silly faces.

There was a event to see who could catapult a ball and destroy the castle. Brian made it out of legos. Pretty awesome if I do say so myself. Papa explaining how it works.
Brian hit the castle so well that he smashed the entire top of it. If you look at the image above there were flags, a three guys sitting where the ball is in this image.

Jen showed great skill throwing her lance through the hoop almost lancing me in da face.

They had to joust and grab rings with their lance.

They had to cross the deep moat.

They had to slay a dragon.

Each kid after they did all the events was made a noble knight by the King and Queen.

Apparently Bella came up and instead of taking one knee, she tried to stand on her head. Too Funny!

Once each kid was made a knight they walked through the tunnel of swords to finalize their valor and bravery!!

The feast……man was it so good!!

This is one of the best Extravaganza’s Nana & Papa have put on. Tons of fun. Now the question is can they top this one for next year?

Every summer my parents plan a “Nana & Papa Extravaganza day”. Last year the theme was “Indiana Jones”, the year before was “Clue” etc. This year the theme is Medieval.
I got Bella’s hair ready early for her princess costume, while it was still wet (hoping it would stay). I know her hair won’t last long, so decided to grab some photos quick (she’s actually napping right now before we leave, so I KNOW she’s going to wake up with it a mess)
She looks so stinkin’ cute with her hair like that!! I can’t wait for the festivities today, and to share the photos with you next week!!

Ok…. now back to the USA/England World Cup game…. GO USA!!!!!!

Today I was picking up the living room after the boys were off to school. As I was cleaning, I noticed a few toys on the entertainment center shelves. Then I noticed that I had just walked into a sniper scene! Oh the things you find in a house full of boys.

Do you find funny things while cleaning? Would love to hear from you in your comments!
Well back to work… enjoy your day everyone!
