Category: Baby's First Year
I always enjoy photographing the Watch Me Grow sessions and spending the 1st year with not only the baby, but making relationships with the family as well and one such family is The Christian Family. I already have done Baby Gracie’s first session, which was so awesome, and now I am already on her second session. Where does the time go? Heading back to Brad & Lauren’s house and entering their home, baby Gracie has changed so much in such a short amount of time. I absolutely love this part of my job. Lifestyle Sessions are just so much fun and you really get to see a family in their true element. What can I say, I love what I do and I love this family. Brad & Lauren Gracie is so so adorable and I can’t believe how much she has changed already. Capri is super cute and I just love how she interacts with Gracie. Enjoy your blog teaser and I can’t wait to show you the rest from the session.

Love this!!

Look at how cute she is. Before she was laying on the saddle in The First Session last time.

She has grown so much since the last time we shot at this part of the house.

Love this.

Kissing baby toes. I love it!!

Squeezing cheeks!!

Look at the cute little bloomers!!!

SO SO SO Adorable!!!

I love this. Brad and Capri were snuggling up on the bed looking at the past session we did of Gracie. So cute!!

Last Friday was met with mixed emotions for me. I was super excited to Brad, Lauren & Kapri again. It’s been a few months since our last session in Kapri’s “Watch Me Grow” Baby’s 1st Year Collection, and Kapri is off and walking!! But I was also bummed going into this session, because it was our last session in her collection.
I’ve so enjoyed seeing Kapri every few months and documenting her growth and personality over this last year. I’ve loved seeing Brad & Lauren regularly and becoming friends with them.
We started with Brad & Lauren’s Maternity Session
Then Kapri’s Newborn session
Next was her 13 week session
After that was her Sitting session
Then her Crawling session
And finally the session you’re going to see today!
I mean really…. how can you NOT fall in love with adorable little girl??
I love seeing her climbing up and down the furniture now! She is such an active and happy little girl!!

Just look at the blur of motion!!

Like any little girl, she loves talking on the phone! (on a side note, one of my FAVORITE things to capture during my lifestyle portrait sessions is the looks of pure love that families exchange when they play together, and naturally interact with each other! These are the moments, and looks, that we parents want to remember forever!)

Kapri loves her dog Layla… and as you can see, her dog loves her!!

Now you may remember, that I love to show the growth of a baby through my “Watch Me Grow” Baby’s 1st Year Collections. Now that we’ve completed Kapri’s collection, just look at the growth from Newborn through her 1st year!

and finally, I know this is almost the same as above, but I just LOVE Lauren’s hand blurring into the photo to catch, if necessary the ever active Kapri!!

After finishing up our lifestyle photos at home, we headed out to a nearby park for Kapri to play!

At the end of our session, Brad & Lauren gave Kapri a giant Lollipop. What do you think… was she excited???

Brad & Lauren, thank you SO much for entrusting me with such important photos to document Kapri’s 1st year!!! I love you guys, and can’t wait to share the rest of the photos with you!!
Want to leave some blog love for Brad Lauren & Kapri? You can leave a comment below!
Thanks for stopping by, have a GREAT 4th of July weekend!!!

Last week I was so excited to head out of the Sacramento area and drive down to Sebastopol to see the Smith Family!! You may remember them from my visit back in September. I LOVE getting the opportunity to see families again and again. So much changes every few months in a young family’s life. And the Smiths are no exception. I was shocked to see how big Dylan has gotten, and see how fun and full of energy Ani is (last time she was recovering from a cold). Not to mention Dylan & Ani’s mom Mariah, is an awesomely talented photographer herself!!
Mariah & Arron, thank you so much for having me out! I always feel so welcome and like a part of your family when I’m there. Ani, thank you for entertaining me all morning, and Dylan, thank you for the awesome snuggles dude!!
Enjoy the photos!!!

ahhhhh who doesn’t love some adorable baby lashes????

Love this one of them… just being them! Mariah playing with Dylan as he eats and Aaron Ani brushing Biscuit. **LOVE**

Ok mom, you can all relate to this photo of changing your squirmy, wormy baby’s diaper…

and then he arches his back and makes it nearly impossible… it’s like wrestling an alligator just to get the diaper changed! hahaha

I’m not exaggerating… I can feel the love they all have for each other, the whole time I’m with them. I am truly blessed just to witness the love I get to on a regular basis!

haha Dylan is so fast crawling now, he kept going straight for my camera.

Ani is quite the fashionista, I think she had a dress on and 3 different capes on as she danced around her room. BEAUTIFUL!!!

She read me several stories while I was there. I love that Biscuit is quite content sleeping under her bed as she reads aloud.

And while she was reading, Dylan was crawling around on the floor, checking stuff out, and trying to pet biscuit under the bed.

Mariah & Aaron, you two are so happy and in love, I smile every time I see one of the many photos I captured of you two snuggling up while you played with and watched the kids play.

Dylan LOVES his baths, and couldn’t wait for someone to get him in there!! haha

BUBBLE FACE!!!!

Ani was Dylan a kiss goodbye, he was about to take off with Daddy.

While Mariah prepared an DELICIOUS lunch for all of us, Ani entertained me by drawing beautiful pictures… she’s quite the artist!

Thank you again Mariah for having me out!! I can’t wait to share the rest of the photos with you!!!!

I can’t say enough how much I LOVE my “Watch Me Grow”, Baby’s 1st year collections!!! I just love getting to come back several time through the year and seeing the same family I love and watching the baby’s I grow so attached to grow up!!
So that being said, I have been anxiously awaiting this next session with Kapri and her parents! I can’t believe how much she’s grown since her newborn session just a few months ago!!!
Brad & Lauren, thank you again for welcoming me into your home. I so look forward to seeing you guys, and enjoyed visiting with you as Kapri went down for her nap! The love that surrounds your family makes me smile, and warms my heart, every time I look at your photos and am with you! Can’t wait to see you guys again in a few months!!
And now on to sharing the photos!!
From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted with smiles and babbling from Kapri…… well that’s not entirely true, Kapri only has eyes for her Daddy!

Remember this photo from last session??

I TOLD you she’s grown!!

OH YEA, BATH TIME, nothing beats it!!

Well….. maybe chubby baby belly buttons!

But I know for a fact that snuggling a freshly bathed baby is the best feeling in the world!

Love that Daddy gave her a ‘hawk!

Oh yeah, tummy time, that love hate relationship that all baby’s have with it until they are able to crawl! haha

I love how Daddy’s play completely differently with their babies than Mommy’s do!

Nap time…. who can resist this sleeping angel???? I know one thing for sure, I sure can’t!!!

Last Thursday I spent the morning with Kapri and her family. You may remember her Mommy & Daddy from their maternity session back in January. I am so excited that they selected one of our baby’s first year packages. I always get so attached to the families I photograph, and am SO looking forward to this next year with Kapri, and being able to document all her milestones and growth! (plus I get the added bonus of hanging out with her wonderful parents and snuggling her throughout the year!)
Can I just say that I think I’m in love with Kapri? Isn’t she just the cutest little thing? And only 5 days old, and so perfect! She slept through most of our session. Put up with us fussing with her, moving her, and everything without a peep! (and let me tell you, it was a VERY eventful session, just ask Mom & Dad!)
Teeny, Tiny fingers & toes, this stage is so fleeting………

See I told you she slept peacefully through the session, don’t you just want to snuggle her???

Daddy is an avid hunter. I loved his idea of incorporating the ruggedness of his hunting, with her petite newborn innocence. He actually shot that bison in the background with a bow & arrow…. how cool is that!?!?

Daddy is also a talented musician and enjoys playing his guitar for Kapri

Do these photos not completely capture how each new parent spends most of their first days with their little one. Snuggles, kisses, and you just can’t stop staring at your perfect little baby!

I’ve been trying to think outside the box lately and try a few new things with each of my sessions. I’m not sure what it is about this photo, but I love the abstractness of it!

That little mouth, and perfect petal lips…. I just want to snuggle her every time I see this photo!

And finally, this photo makes me smile, and laugh, because really, this is what every parent looks like over their new little one, taking photo every second! I LOVE it!!

Brad & Lauren, I had SUCH a wonderful time with you, thank you for welcoming me into your home. I so enjoyed visiting, and snuggling little Kapri, and documenting these first few days with your perfect little bundle. You two are amazing parents, and I can’t wait to show the rest of the photos soon!
